Summary

A fiery restaurant owner falls for her enigmatic head chef in this charming, emotional romance

Amy Chambers: restaurant owner, micromanager, control freak。

Amy will do anything to revive her ailing restaurant, including hiring a former reality-show finalist with good connections and a lot to prove。 But her hopes that Sophie’s skills and celebrity status would bring her restaurant back from the brink of failure are beginning to wane…

Sophie Brunet: grump in the kitchen/sunshine in the streets, took thirty years to figure out she was queer。

Sophie just wants to cook。 She doesn’t want to constantly post on social media for her dead-in-the-water reality TV career, she doesn’t want to deal with Amy’s take-charge personality and she doesn’t want to think about what her attraction to her boss might mean…

Then, an opportunity: a new foodie TV show might provide the exposure they need。 An uneasy truce is fine for starters, but making their dreams come true means making some personal and painful sacrifices and soon, there’s more than just the restaurant at stake。

Carina Adores is home to romantic love stories where LGBTQ+ characters find their happily-ever-afters。

Sapphic September continues with a culinary centered steamy romance featuring co-owners if a failing restaurant。 Very cute, bonus for amazing narration

3。5⭐️okay, this was good but not great。 i LOVED the restaurant references because i’ve ran one before so that aspect was really good and authentic。 i LOVED that it was a sapphic ff romance because uh women?!? duh。 did i actually LIKE the relationship between amy and sophie? not necessarily。 it fell flat。 i was angry at amy for most of the book。 and the conclusion? not a big fan。 ⚠️tw/cw: biphobia, death of parent (cancer), emotional abuse, blood, sexual harrassment

Sapphic rom com with 🔥🌶️ scenes。 The story was cute, but I wasn’t just there for the story 😏

I loved this! The world needs more Sapphic romance novels, in general, but add in cooking shows and I am hooked! 4 stars。

This was a unique delight! It had some tropes I don’t really love (namely characters making decisions for romantic partners in order to “protect” them and both being smitten but pushing the other away because they’re immature lil idiots with poor communication), but they were a pretty well-executed version thereof。 We kinda jump into the plot in a way that confused me at times (especially based on the jacket copy), but I got with the program quickly enough。 The MCs are already acquainted and wor This was a unique delight! I enjoyed this book but it definitely needed more。 It was a bit short in my opinion or like maybe a sequel。

this was cute & had good smut but the ending felt a little rushed

this was a fun, charming, and easy read! i enjoyed these characters and their relationship a lot。 i would've happily read 100 more pages of them together in their restaurant。 this was a fun, charming, and easy read! i enjoyed these characters and their relationship a lot。 i would've happily read 100 more pages of them together in their restaurant。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this up until the final quarter of the book。 At that point, Sophie’s actions didn’t feel authentic to her character or the ark she had made, and everything felt really forced。 It removed me from the story。The LGBTQ+ representation felt overall positive and authentic。

I asked for steamy FF recs and damn。The people who recommended this to me did not 👏🏻 disappoint 👏🏻 When I was listening to this at work I swear I was blushing。 Just go buy and read this book in any format。 It’s definitely worth it!

really wanted to love this one but the pacing (esp the last third of the book) was a mess。

3。5 StarsNot the most memorable but I still enjoyed reading to it。 I do think it feels a little misleading with the description。 There was barely a reality tv show aspect which was a bummer。 I did enjoy their relationship though and the talks around coming out as bisexual despite who you are in a relationship with。

I had high hopes for this one, but it fell in the solid middle ground for me。 It felt like the characters were sexually attracted to each other from the get go, but for a book with the work romance in the title the romantic attraction was seriously lacking。 It seemed like all they ever did was argue and have sex, and I don't know how they managed to fall in love with each other in between all the arguing and sex。That said, I did like the characters separately, and the storylines they both had ha I had high hopes for this one, but it fell in the solid middle ground for me。 It felt like the characters were sexually attracted to each other from the get go, but for a book with the work romance in the title the romantic attraction was seriously lacking。 It seemed like all they ever did was argue and have sex, and I don't know how they managed to fall in love with each other in between all the arguing and sex。That said, I did like the characters separately, and the storylines they both had happening in their own lives。 It was just every time they actually came together - professionally, platonically, romantically - that the ball was dropped。 。。。more

It was nice to find a queer romance book, but the plot wasn’t exciting and kind of hard to follow。

3。5 stars but rounding up because the steamy scenes were great (and that's often a spot where sapphic romance falls short)! 3。5 stars but rounding up because the steamy scenes were great (and that's often a spot where sapphic romance falls short)! 。。。more

was expecting this to be a romance with conflicting emotions, and coming-out stories, but I wasn't counting on the "daddy issues"。 One of the main characters, Amy, owner of the restaurant, has some major emotional issues with her father。 Before her mother's passing, both she and her brother distanced themselves from their already distant father。 When he comes to her restaurant for the first time ever, makes wild demands, and humiliates her, she nearly breaks, but it's Sophie, her lover, who pul was expecting this to be a romance with conflicting emotions, and coming-out stories, but I wasn't counting on the "daddy issues"。 One of the main characters, Amy, owner of the restaurant, has some major emotional issues with her father。 Before her mother's passing, both she and her brother distanced themselves from their already distant father。 When he comes to her restaurant for the first time ever, makes wild demands, and humiliates her, she nearly breaks, but it's Sophie, her lover, who pulls her back and gives her strength。 When Amy is ready to accept her feelings for Sophie, she knows that she must confront her father first and say the words that have never been told。 How he let her down and couldn't show their family real love because he had been afraid, but she was going to learn from his mistakes and not let her fear stop her from living。 。。。more

The spice was excellent, the setting was delightful。 I enjoyed the side characters and the way Sophie grew so much。 I never did come around to loving Amy。 I typically like when the climax is not related to a lie or misunderstanding, but this one just had me frustrated with Amy。 Overall though, a great sapphic love story。

Thank you to Harper Collins Canada for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review。 I really wanted to love this book and I was super excited with the premise but for me I was just expecting a lot more。The first thing is I found there was a lot of outside parts of the story that took the front seat of the story sometimes。 and although in romances scenes outside of the main romance plot line is important for character development for me it just wasn’t doing it in this case。Second, t Thank you to Harper Collins Canada for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review。 I really wanted to love this book and I was super excited with the premise but for me I was just expecting a lot more。The first thing is I found there was a lot of outside parts of the story that took the front seat of the story sometimes。 and although in romances scenes outside of the main romance plot line is important for character development for me it just wasn’t doing it in this case。Second, the premise talks about a rally TV show contest and I was really excited for the drama that that was going to bring out and in the end it doesn’t really happen in the book。 Instead, it’s everything leading up to it。Third, the romance itself was a little too Insta love for me。 The two main characters already know each other but considering there is animosity between them I was expecting a lot more banter and build up before the two characters decided to have a romantic relationship。 Especially considering one of the characters was just recently Learning about herself and questioning if she is bisexual。 I expected to be a lot more difficulty with that transition than the way that the story portrayed it。I will say the spice scenes, we’re absolutely delicious and I loved every minute of it。 some of the conflicts that were brought up throughout the story with the romance was enjoyable and definitely added some layers to the romance。I think this is a good book, it is a fast read so if you’re looking for a sapphic romance that’s quick this one is for you。 。。。more

I’m crying man this book had an interesting start but it really turned out in the end。 These two have insane chemistry and I’m truly sad this book is over。
